Terms of Service

1. Provider

HexoQuest (the “Service”) is provided by BOREA IT, Računalniške rešitve, d.o.o., Budanje 6G, 5271 Vipava, Slovenia, registration no. 9923802000, VAT ID SI64114317 (“we”). Contact: info@hexoquest.com.

2. The Service

HexoQuest is an online learning service where children learn the basics of coding and computing through game-like levels. The first levels of every course are free. Access to all levels requires a paid plan or an active free trial. We may improve, change or extend the content and features at any time.

3. Users

• Guests play the free levels without logging in.
• Students join a class or family group with a code, a nickname and a PIN.
• Players create their own account with a nickname and password (no email) and can play the free levels.
• Account holders are adults (18+), such as teachers, club leaders or parents, who create classes or family groups and may buy plans.

4. Free trial

New account holders get a free trial of 30 days with full access for up to 10 students. No payment details are required. When the trial ends, access returns to the free levels; no data is deleted.

5. Plans, payment and renewal

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase.

• Plans are subscriptions that renew automatically for the same period (monthly or yearly) until cancelled.
• You can cancel any time in the billing portal (Plan and billing). Access continues until the end of the paid period.
• The number of seats is the number of students who may be members of your classes or family groups at the same time.
• Prices are shown on the pricing page. Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change for renewals.
• Schools may also buy by invoice. Then the terms of our quote and invoice apply.

6. Refunds and right of withdrawal

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first payment, see our Refund Policy. This does not limit any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

7. Rules of use

• Don't use your full real name as a nickname, and don't put personal details (last name, address, phone, email) or offensive content into nicknames, work or comments.
• Don't try to access other people's accounts or classes, disrupt the Service or bypass its limits, and don't share class codes publicly.
• We may remove inappropriate content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

8. Responsibilities of account holders

• Keep your password safe and share class codes only with your students or kids.
• Schools and organizations make sure they have a legal basis for the processing and inform students and parents. Our data processing agreement is part of these terms for schools.
• Delete student data when you no longer need it.

9. Intellectual property

Lesson texts, the Hexo mascot, images and the design of HexoQuest belong to us and may not be used outside the Service without permission. You may use them freely within the Service for teaching. Users may freely download and use the pages they build.

HexoQuest uses open-source components: Blockly (Apache License 2.0, Google LLC), and the fonts Nunito and JetBrains Mono (SIL Open Font License 1.1).

10. Availability and liability

We work hard to keep the Service available and secure, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or error-free. We are not liable for progress saved only in a browser. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory consumer rights.

11. Termination

You can delete your account any time in your account settings (cancel your subscription first). We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

12. Changes and governing law

We may change these terms. We will notify account holders of significant changes by email at least 15 days in advance. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence. We will try to resolve any dispute amicably first.
